Complete Guide to Sourcing Towels from Pakistan

A step-by-step guide to importing towels and textile products from Pakistan — covering supplier selection, sampling, payment terms, quality inspection and shipping.

Complete Guide to Sourcing Towels from Pakistan

Pakistan is one of the world's leading exporters of towels and terry textile products. If you are looking to source towels, bath sheets, kitchen towels or cleaning rags from Pakistan, this guide walks you through the entire process — from finding the right supplier to receiving goods at your warehouse.

Step 1: Define Your Requirements

Before contacting suppliers, define your exact requirements: product type, GSM range, composition (100% cotton recommended), sizes, colours, quantity, packaging and any branding requirements. The more specific you are, the more accurate the quotes you will receive.

Step 2: Request Quotations

Contact 2–3 manufacturers directly and request quotations. Always ask for FOB Karachi pricing so you can compare on an apples-to-apples basis. Request product specifications, minimum order quantities, lead times and payment terms alongside the price.

Step 3: Request and Evaluate Samples

Never place a bulk order without evaluating samples. Request samples in your specified GSM and composition. Test them for softness, absorbency, colourfastness and construction quality. Wash samples 10–20 times to evaluate durability.

Step 4: Payment Terms

Standard payment terms for Pakistani textile exports are 30–50% advance payment with the balance paid against a copy of the Bill of Lading. For larger orders, Letter of Credit (LC) at sight is common and provides security for both parties.

Step 5: Quality Inspection

For orders above a certain value, commissioning a pre-shipment inspection through SGS, Bureau Veritas or similar agencies is strongly recommended. The cost is typically USD 200–400 and provides independent verification of quality before goods ship.

Step 6: Shipping and Customs

Most Pakistani textile exporters ship via sea freight from Karachi port. Typical transit times: USA East Coast 20–25 days, Europe 20–28 days, Middle East 7–14 days. Ensure your customs broker has the HS code for your product and that all required documentation (commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading) is in order.
