Bath robes are one of the highest-margin private label opportunities in hospitality textiles. A hotel, spa or retail brand that launches its own branded robe creates a product that guests associate directly with the property experience — and often want to purchase. This guide explains how to take a bath robe from concept to finished branded product with a Pakistan manufacturer.
Step 1: Define the Product Specification
Before approaching any manufacturer, document your product specification. Key decisions: fabric type (100% cotton terry, velour, waffle weave, or cotton-poly blend), GSM (300–400 GSM for lightweight spa robes; 400–550 GSM for premium hotel robes), robe style (shawl collar, kimono cut, hooded), size range (S/M/L/XL or one-size), belt and pocket configuration, and colour. The more detailed your specification, the more accurate your quotes will be — and the fewer revision rounds you will need during sampling.
Step 2: Choose Your Branding Method
There are three main branding options for bath robes. Woven label: your logo is woven into a fabric label sewn at the neckline or chest pocket — the most durable option, looks premium, minimum 1,000 labels typically. Embroidery: your logo is stitched directly onto the chest of the robe — visible and tactile, cost scales with stitch count, no minimum beyond the order MOQ. Printed label: your brand information is printed on a sewn-in care label — lowest cost, typically used for care instructions only, less impact on brand presentation.
Most luxury hotel programmes use woven chest label plus embroidered logo on the pocket — the combination signals quality to the guest. Retail private label programmes often lead with chest embroidery and branded hang tags.
Step 3: Request Samples and Approve
Request a proto sample (or lab-dip if you need custom colour) before committing to production. The factory will produce 2 to 3 samples to your specification. Evaluate: weight and GSM (weigh the sample, verify against specification), softness and hand feel, colour accuracy against your reference, label placement and quality, construction (pocket depth, belt loop strength, hem finish). Approve the sample in writing — email confirmation with attached photos of the approved sample. This document is your reference for production quality.
Step 4: Confirm Order Details and Pay Deposit
Once the sample is approved, confirm your final order: quantity by size, colour, any last specification adjustments, packaging requirements (poly bag, individual box, hanging), and shipping terms. Standard payment terms for Pakistan export are 30% deposit by T/T on order confirmation, 70% balance by T/T against copy of Bill of Lading. Some factories offer Letter of Credit for larger orders. Never pay 100% upfront to a factory you have not worked with before.
Step 5: Production Timeline
A typical private label bath robe production timeline: sample approval to production start: 2 to 5 business days (depending on yarn and label availability). Production lead time: 45 to 60 days for 1,000 to 5,000 units. Pre-shipment inspection: 5 to 7 days before cargo ready date. Shipping: 20 to 25 days sea freight to European ports; 25 to 30 days to East Coast USA; 10 to 15 days to Middle East. Total from order confirmation to delivery: allow 90 to 120 days for a first order. Reorders are typically faster once your spec is locked.
Step 6: Pre-Shipment Inspection
Before the cargo is packed and loaded, commission a pre-shipment inspection. You or a third-party inspection company (SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek) will check a random sample of units against the approved specification. AQL 2.5 is the standard for most buyers. The inspection report should confirm GSM, measurements, label placement, colour, and packing details. If the inspection fails, the factory must rework before shipment. Never skip this step on a first order.
Typical MOQ and Pricing for Private Label Robes
Private label bath robe MOQs typically start at 500 units per style/colour. Pricing for a standard 100% cotton terry robe at 400 GSM with woven label runs approximately USD 8 to 14 per unit FOB Karachi depending on GSM, size, and order quantity. Add USD 1.50 to 2.50 per unit for individual gift box packaging. Embroidery logo adds USD 0.50 to 1.50 depending on stitch count.
